Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge
The Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge covers 111,000 acres and contains a variety of wildlife, including endangered species such as the red wolf, bald eagle, peregrine falcon and red-cockaded woodpecker as well as natural vegetation and scenic areas. Deer, small game and waterfowl hunting is allowed in the refuge in accordance to the state seasons and bag limits.
