Pettigrew State Park
More than 1200 acres of land and 16,600 acres of water that make up the Park and Lake Phelps. Also contains part of the old plantation at Somerset Place. Canoe/kayak trails, sailing, row boats and power boats can be launched from the two launch sites. A family campsite with thirteen sites for tents or trailers is located near the park office. Picnic tables and grill at each site with restrooms and showers close by. Boat, pier and wade fishing available with fishing license. Trails and picnic areas are located throughout the park, maps available at the Park office. The park recently purchased property on the Scuppernong River and facilities are planned for the near future.

Driving Directions: Pettigrew State Park is located in Washington and Tyrrell counties, seven miles south of Creswell of US 64. From US 64 in Creswell take 6th Street south to Main Street, then left on Main Street (NC1142). Follow NC 1142 about two miles, take a right on Thirty Foot Canal Road (NC 1160), follow this road to the lake. Turn left onto Lake Shore Road and the park headquarters is on the right.

Days/Hours of Operation: Office hours: 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Closed Holidays. Park hours: November – February, 8am to 6pm; March, 8am to 7pm; April and May, 8am to 8am; June to August, 8am to 9pm; September, 8am to 8pm; October, 8am to 7pm.
Fees: $15 per night camping fee, seniors citizens $10 per night, Primitive Group Site $9 per night or $1 per person whichever is the most.
